location : the Murray river spans across 3 states Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia but we will be visiting it in Victoria and has the coordinates of  36° 47′ 46″ S, 148° 11′ 40″ E -36.796111, 148.194444

describe unique aspects : the Murray river is the 16th longest river in the world and Australia's longest river with a total length of 2756 km. it supplies water for over 1.5 million families in Australia. it is a popular fishing spot with Murray cod growing easily up to sizes of 180cm. the Murray river is also is a great spot for golfers with 37 golf courses on its banks and a huge aquatic playground with activities ranging from river cruises to skiing and canoeing and kayaking.

coober pedy

unique aspect : natural resources

location : coober pedy is a small town located in south Australia, 946 km north of Adelaide. Its has a latitude and longitude of 29° 0′ 40″ S, 134° 45′ 20″ E

describe unique aspects : coober pedy is a small town of roughly 3500 people. known as the opal capital of Australia with most of the world green opal supply coming from this town. it is known for its unique style of living with residents living and the town operating underground in dug out homes because of the extremely hot temperatures (an average of 36.4C in January). Coober peddy also featured in the film Mad Max 2. A popular tourist activity is searching for opals but if you don't succeed you can always buy one from the gift shop

uluru

unique aspect : landform

location : uluru is located in  Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in the southern part of the northern territory and is 335 km south west of Alice springs. it has the coordinates of 25°20′42″S 131°02′10″E

describe unique aspects : Uluru is one of Australia's most recognisable landmarks. formerly known as Ayers rock it is a large sandstone rock formation and is listed as a world heritage site. uluru has great aboriginal significance as they believe that the spirits of there ancestors live in this rock. uluru is known for changing the colour of the sky depending on the time of day resulting in stunning sunsets. many aboriginals lead tours for people about the cave paintings, local fauna and flora, bush foods and there dream time stories.

blue mountains

location : the blue mountains are located in Sydney, new south wales. On a map you would find it 33° 43′ 5″ S, 150° 18′ 38″ E.

describe unique aspects : the blue mountains reach a height of 1100m above sea level and cover 1.03 million square hectares and are listed on the world heritage list. They provide many spectacular picturesque landscapes that include rain forests, sandstone cliffs, mountains, canyons, waterfalls, tall forests and caves. The 3 sisters in katomba are a popular tourist attraction, in aboriginal dream time they believe that they were once 3 beautiful sisters that disobeyed their father so were turned into rock. they support 100 of the worlds eucalyptus trees and 400 types of vertebrae.

great barrier reef

location : the great barrier reef is located in northern Queensland in the great barrier reef marine park. it has a longitude of 10°40'55"S and runs south until 24°29'54"S

It is larger than the great wall of china and is the only living thing that can be seen from space.
